Quarto for research
Beginner-friendly tutorial on using Quarto, Markdown, and GitHub to share research openly as a website.
I delivered an in-person workshop for the Department of Health and Community Sciences at the University of Exeter on 1 June 2026. The session introduced researchers to Quarto, GitHub, and Markdown as tools for sharing and organising research more openly and reproducibly.
All materials were developed openly and remain available online:
- Workshop site: https://pythonhealthdatascience.github.io/quarto-tutorial/
- Workshop site GitHub: https://github.com/pythonhealthdatascience/quarto-tutorial/
- Template/Codespace used in workshop: https://github.com/pythonhealthdatascience/quarto-template
The aim was to provide a simple, reusable starting point for building Quarto websites that can serve as research homepages, project sites, or documentation hubs.
